  • Sevan Construction Nigeria Limited was established in 1981 with Registration No. RC 37125 as a limited liability company specialized in all kinds of Structural Steel fabrication design & erection to the civil construction and Oil & Gas Industries, development and manufacturing of various semi-trailers, rigid truck bodies, which enabled the company to deliver complete projects of steel structures coupled with civil engineering.

    Responsibilities



    • Direct and oversee construction projects from conception to completion while monitoring compliance with safety and construction regulations.

    • Coordinate subcontractors and the construction team to meet contractual conditions of performance.

    • Prepare external and internal reports relating to job status, daily progress, estimates, and deliverables.

    • Negotiate agreement terms, manage construction contract drafts, bid on projects, and obtain permits to analyze and mitigate risks.

    • Communicate with the responsible parties to ensure quality construction exceeds company standards and proper industry techniques and processes are utilized, while ensuring the client’s needs and wants are efficiently met.

    • Review projects on a daily basis to ensure quality construction standards exist and estimates remain within budget.

    • Supervise construction projects to ensure they are completed on time and exceed the customer’s requirements.

    • Work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment to plan and coordinate all aspects of the project process from hiring contractors to working with engineers, architects, and vendors.

    • Coordination of the technical department staff activities in relation to generating project drawings, B.O.Q., tender submission and material take offs (MTO).

    • Coordination of company projects from inception to completion at site

    • Participate in the company drive in the implementation of the ISO 9001 and Quality Management System (QMS).

    • Preparation of workshop drawings for various projects.

    • Checks and approve construction workshop drawings of all projects for compliance with client’s specifications and standards.

    • Professional qualification will be added advantage.

    • 5 – 10 years experience in fabrication and construction industry

    Job Description



    • Obtain drawings from Technical department for understanding and interpretation.

    • Conduct all testing procedures or method statements related to dimension on products.

    • Carried out all required dimensional checks hold points.

    • Responsible for the identification and control of non-conformity

    • Prepare and maintain dimension control inspection quality plan

    • Monitor to certify required dimension reports are completed

    • Carry out dimensional survey in line with the clients specifications.

    • Review approve Construction/fabrication Drawings and specification for tolerance.

    • Check all fitted items prior to and after welding activities.

    • Ensure dimensional checking of all fitted items after welding activities are concluded on a timely basis.

    • Collect accurate data on dimensional inspection parameters and reproducing them in appropriate format.

    • Administer strict compliance to Drawings and Specifications

    • Minimize or eliminate dimensional quality defects on projects.

    • Reporting dimensional activities to the factory manager on a regular basis.


    Required Skills and Qualifications



    • 5 – 10 years experience in steel fabrication and construction industry

    • Ability to read and interpret shop and engineering drawings

    • Strong communication, planning and organisation skills

    • Excellent resource, planning, and time management skills

    • Superior management and delegation capabilities

    • Sound technical knowledge of project drawings and interpretations

    • Issued project drawings to Factory Manager & QAQC and co-ordinate implementation.

    • Participate to supervise fabrication and construction jobs in line with approve drawings

    • Timely preparation of workshop drawings

    • Prepare Bill of Quantity – BOQ and program of works

    • Good knowledge of Engineering and construction drawings and codes, Practice and Regulations.

    • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical and Civil Engineering.

    • Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design and Drafting Soft-ware, AUTOCAD and TEKLA

    • Professional qualification will be added advantage

    Job Description



    • Timely preparation of workshop drawings

    • Prepare Bill of Quantity – BOQ

    • Prepare program of works

    • Prepare Method Statements for fabrication and erection works

    • Visit Project site to give correct and accurate report

    • Attend project meetings with Client from time to time

    • Work with production to ensure the correct fabrication, erection and construction is done in line with the job drawing

    • Prepare material list in compliance to quantity, quality and Clients needs

    • Take physical measurements, calculations and observations and report same for correction and implementation

    • Document all project drawings, client’s needs, review and amendment

    • Send project progress report to all concerns daily, weekly and monthly as require from time to time.


    Required Skills and Qualifications
